In order to lose body fat you have to consume less calories than your body requires on a daily basis. The principle sounds very easy but in practise most people fall foul to the term weight loss as opposed to body fat loss and in turn lose weight but a vast portion being muscle tissue. Here are some useful tips to reduce body fat whilst conserving muscle tissue.
Consume 1- 1.5g of protein per pound of body weight daily, to help conserve muscle tissue whilst reducing body fat. Consume protein from, chicken, turkey, tuna, fish, egg whites. Aim for 1.5 grams of carbohydrates per pound of bodyweight. It’s better to Consume complex carbohydrates for sustained energy release, these being potato’s, sweet potato’s, rice, oats, wholemeal/granary bread and fibrous vegetables. Avoid simple sugars, which can promote fat storage (the only simple sugars we recommend to consume to come from Recover max or Cyclone taken immediately after exercise with weights). Perform regular exercise with weights 3-4 sessions per week, training each body part once a week. As the goal is to lose body fat also incorporate 5-7 sessions of cardio a week, performing 15-30 minutes per session. Cardio can be from fast pace walking (treadmill or outdoors), stepper, cross trainer or stationary bike.
